A cowboy is an animal herder who tends cattle on ranches in North America, traditionally on horseback, and often performs a multitude of other ranch-related tasks. The historic American cowboy of the late 19th century became a figure of special significance and legend. A subtype, called a wrangler, specifically tends the horses used to work cattle. In addition to ranch work, some cowboys work for or participate in rodeos. Cowgirls, first defined as such in the late 19th century, had a less-well documented historical role, but in the modern world have established the ability to work at virtually identical tasks and obtained considerable respect for their achievements. Starting on June 22nd, Comme des Garçons presents an evolving shop exhibition in colette’s lower mezzanine, featuring the new Comme des Garçons SHIRT range for FW 2009. Entitled GEOGRAPHY, the collection highlights aspects of our planet using photos from National Geographic magazine. Alongside the new SHIRT collection, edited items from Comme des Garçons Parfum and wallets will be available, including a specially created, strictly limited, leather tote bag.

During the course of the six-week event (June 22nd to August 1st), Comme des Garçons will also present the international debuts, in exclusivity at colette, of two new labels: Comme des Garçons SHIRT GIRL and DOVER STREET MARKET. New models from the PLAY collection will also make their first appearance.

Also on June 22nd, Comme des Garçons and colette are proud to present – for two weeks only – the new temporary BLACK Comme des Garçons, in a dedicated corner on the shop’s first floor. This guerrilla-like women brand, scheduled to last for 18 months, will be available at only 10 shops worldwide and will feature reinterpretations of Comme des Garçons’ most popular models, in mostly black.

Art Since the Summer of ’69 is proud to present its inaugural exhibition, in its premiere space. Located on Chrystie Street in Manhattan, the gallery is very small, but it intends to show great things. The title of the first exhibition, As Small As It Gets, relates to both the space and the exhibition, which contains small sculptures produced by friends of the gallery. From Spartacus Chetwynd’s hat used in the video The Walk to Dover, to Ligia Dias‘ custom made necklace based on Robert Morris’ sculptures, all works are smaller than 20″.
Art Since the Summer of ’69 was founded in January 2008 by Hanne Mugaas, Fabienne Stephan and Paul-Aymar Mourge d’Algue. Since then the gallery has presented projects at Ooga Booga in Los Angeles, Koelnischer Kunstverein in Cologne, and Swiss Institute in New York.

The genius Ooga Booga store, based in Chinatown, LA just lauched a new site they created as a resource page for people interested in independent art book publishing. It’s a clever and friendly idea, made to help indie publishers, and artists around the world.
Best is to check it here : http://print-resources.tumblr.com/
