Planningtorock is Janine Rostron, a multi-instrumentalist/programmer/videographer from Bolton, Lancashire.

Based in Berlin for the last 10 years, she began performing at the city’s clubs in 2004 and rapidly made a name for herself in the Berlin music and art scene. In 2006, she released her first full-length album “Have it all” and started touring, opening for big names such as LCD Soundsystem and Peaches.

Obscuring boundaries between music and performance art, her recent collaboration on “Tomorrow, in a Year”, the electronic opera created by The Knife, was just a confirmation of Janine’s talent.

Her “W”, out on May 23rd on DFA Records, is a dark and innovative album. Combining heavily distorted voice, orchestral arrangements and electronic loops, Planningtorock’s new album is certainly a spooky journey.
