Cornelia Hediger—born in Switzerland, based in New York City—and Dear Art Room in Hamburg present an exhibition of Hediger’s work, both her prints and hand-made collages from her Doppelgänger and Puppenhaus series, as well as her potent Election 2016 piece, first published last November.
“A woman in existentialist dialogue with herself. As soon as these stories shift into turgidity, the fragmented photographs call for a soothing provocation and reflect back the complexity of self-survey. Hediger’s visual collages create a balance between fiction and reality from this complexity. Despite the surreal appearance, the work conveys sense and sensibility.” — Denis Brudna
In addition to her art practice, Hediger teaches at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan. Hediger is represented by Klompching Gallery in New York and Schneider Gallery in Chicago.
Through August 30.
