SLEATER-KINNEY IN LONG BEACH

“You create opportunities for yourself. You don’t want to be limited. You want to feel relevant to yourself. To me, it doesn’t matter as much what other people think of me. But I want to feel that what I’m doing is something that feels important to me, something that makes me excited to wake up in the morning. You never want to feel like your best years are behind you, mostly for your own sense of self-worth…. No artist has a retirement plan.” — Carrie Brownstein, PARIS LA*

Sleater-Kinney—Brownstein, Corin Tucker, and Janet Weiss—headline Day Two of the Music Tastes Good festival this weekend. The festival features appearances by Los Lobos (performing Kiko), Alvvays, Of Montreal, Ween, and many others, and a Taste Tent brings together top chefs from New Orleans and Long Beach.
