LA STORY

lastory11The best romantic comedy about LA! Written by and starring Steve Martin, LA Story touches on all of the stereotypes of this city – superficiality, obsession with health & beauty, earthquakes, traffic, meaningless art, sunshine, etc. Harris Telemacher (played by Steve Martin) searches for deeper meaning and love in the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. He’s a weatherman who gives the same weather report every day – sun sun sun! One night his car breaks down on the freeway and a traffic sign starts writing messages to him, giving him clues to advice on how to better his life. The traffic sign continues to send him messages throughout the film, guiding him towards a happier relationship. LA Story also features the famous scene of Telemacher roller skating through LACMA. This movie is hilarious, incredibly cute, and a must see. The soundtrack by Enya really seals the deal of this perfectly packaged film about Los Angeles.
