This past Sunday, artist Oscar Tuazon opened a new space, A Corner Door, at 3351 Fletcher Drive in Los Angeles. The small triangular building will host rotating exhibitions and projects that allow for experimentation. It is always refreshing to visit a space run by an artist, so I am really excited to see how this new gallery progresses!

The premiere exhibition, Rug, Small Building, and Two Photos, by Nate Page is a solid endeavor, and a must see. Page used materials specific to the site of the gallery – dirty pillows from discarded sofas collected on neighboring streets, and square slabs of sidewalk concrete. It brought to mind Carl Andre’s floor sculptures, and, pillow forts, serious art making with a playful vibe. The opening was well attended with visitors hanging in and out of the gallery, around, and on top of the sculpture. A Corner Door is open Monday through Friday 10AM – 5PM, and Nate Page’s exhibition will be on view until July 4th.
