ANTIGONÓN AT REDCAT

Spectacle, cabaret, fashion, poetry, violence, drag, and the myths of Cuban writer/activist José Marti and Antigone clash by night at REDCAT in ANTIGONÓN, UN CONTIGENTE ÉPICO. “I prepare a play like if I were preparing a party.” — director Carlos Díaz

ANTIGONÓN, by Rogelio Orizondo, was conceived in 2012 as a graduate work for Orizondo and the actresses Giselda Calero and Daysi Forcade. Díaz—founder of Havana’s Teatro El Público and a professor at the National Theater School—came on board as director and advisor, and the work has since traveled across Latin America and Europe to sold-out houses.
